July & August Favourites

Another two months has gone by which means another favourites post is due! I’ve had such a busy summer this year which I never really planned for but it’s been brilliant and I’ve enjoyed it so much as well as using a lot of different products and changing up my skincare routine.

Dead Sea Spa Magik BB Cream

I got this sample sized BB Cream in a beauty box and when I first tried it about 3 weeks ago I couldn’t believe I left it that long to try it! This is by far the best BB cream I have tried and I have been using it 2-3 times a week in between days of wearing foundation. You can tell by the texture of this just how moisturising it is. I suffer with dry skin and sometimes I can be really flaky but this has kept my skin nice without being oily and really evened out my skin tone with just a slight tint to it. Admittedly it looks a lot darker than it is but once applied it looks even and not dark at all. I will definitely be buying a full size one of these as it’s been perfect for the summer!

L’oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask

I was sent this as part of a set of masks to try out and review and although I have been loving them all, this one in particular has been really amazing on my skin. This mask isn’t at all drying and sometimes I find that detox masks are more drying than others for me. My skin is always left feeling soft and hydrated to the point where my skin has been looking almost completely smooth the past couple of weeks! I would definitely recommend this one to all skin types because it’s the type of product that is good for everyone.

REN Seaweed and Sage Body Wash

Recently I have been finding it hard to relax in the evening but this has been one of the things that’s helped me. I generally shower in the evening and the scent of this is so calming I also come out feeling ready for bed. The texture of this is very much a gel almost like jam is but it is really nice to rub in and wash off. It leaves me feeling super clean and my skin doesn’t fry out from it either.

No7 Velvet Lash Mascara

I have been using this mascara for a couple of months and sadly nearing the end of tube but I am so in love with this mascara. It’s what I call an all-rounder because it can be worn in the day for a more casual look and in the evening apply an extra evening and you have longer, darker, fuller lashes. This is one of those pure black mascaras which is a must for me and I love that I can do my bottom lashes with this one too. This is one of those products that I’ve found myself only reaching for, there is no competition right now!

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint (Lilac)

I have been wearing this nail varnish constantly throughout the past couple of months. I have literally been taking it off when it chips and reapplying it! Not only is the colour amazing but sometimes when I’m feeling a bit lazy I don’t apply a top coat and this always survives on my nails for at least 4 days which is pretty good for me. It also dries quickly which is such a bonus because I tend to paint my nails before bed and I hate it when they stay tacky for ages.

Vaseline Spray 7 Go Aloe Fresh

This last one is basic one but a goodie. I have been using this for so long but for over the summer it has been such a life saver. The reason for this is that because it’s a spray it has such a light texture and is easily absorbed so doesn’t leave any greasy feeling which is literally the worst feeling on a hot day. I always find my skin is so soft and hydrated even if I don’t use a moisturiser for a few days.

Let me know what your summer favourites have been!

May & June Favorites

Another two months have passed so it’s time for another favourites post! All of the things I’ve been loving the past few weeks are makeup products so I do apologise. The reason for this is partly because nothing else has really stood out to me more than usual but I also haven’t been using anything different to normal so I thought I would just keep it to ‘new’ favourites.

Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Palette

I have been using this palette virtually everyday and basically all bar a couple of the eye shadows are so pigmented and long lasting. One of the main reasons I have been enjoying using it so much is because you can create so many different looks with it or adapt a day time look into an evening look so easily. This is also really useful if you’re going away because you just have to take the one palette!

Spectrum Collection C03 Flawless Finish Brush

I got this brush in a beauty box a few months ago and I had never heard of Spectrum before but it’s the softest brush ever I’m going to buy one of their collections. I like the shape of the brush and I have been using it more and more for highlighter and I find it works really well not to mention how beautiful they look!

Rimmel Sculpting Palette

The first few times I used this I really wasn’t keen on this palette at all. One day I just decided to play around with it and use it with different brushes and on different areas on my face and now there’s pretty much not a day that goes by when I don’t wear it. I love the blush shade I probably over do it sometimes! The highlighter is quite subtle but I tend to top it up with another highlighter depending on what kind of day I’m having!

Studio 10 Brow Lifting Pencil

It’s no exaggeration that I actually love this pencil. It’s such a perfect match for my brows which I normally have trouble finding the right match. This is a duo pencil with one side to fill in brows and the other side to shape and outline. I hardly use the the outline pencil just because it doesn’t suite my skin tone but both pencils are so lovely in texture and easy to use.

Do you love using any of these products?

The Beauty Tag

I have been nominated by Zoe from The Beauty and the Blonde to do the beauty tag! I love reading through posts like these because they’re a little bit more personal and you can get to know little facts about the blogger.

If you could have one person in the world do your makeup who would it be?

I would choose Tati Westbrook from Glam Life Guru to do my makeup because I literally love her channel on YouTube so much. She has a video almost every day and her content is always so good. I love that she is always trying such a range of different things and I feel like if I left her to come up with a makeup look for me, it would be amazing! You should definitely go check out her channel because it’s so worth it – especially the OMG Tuesdays for budget products and WTF Thursdays for high end products.

What’s your top makeup tip?

My top makeup tip would actually be to make sure you have a proper skincare routine and use the right things for your skin because I have found I always have such a better makeup day when I have stuck to my skincare routine. Find the products you love and stick to them.

What’s the one skincare item you couldn’t live without?

This has to be the Truth Serum by Ole Henriksen. This is without doubt the best ever skincare product I have found for my skin. I no longer have half of the blemishes I use to have since using this and I love it. It also really moisturises my skin and keeps it hydrated throughout the day under my makeup.

What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?

This is something that wasn’t hard to think of at all and as much as I love it I can’t for the life of me apply it without having to at least re-do it once.

What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?

My biggest pet peeve is when you have a pump product and you just really want to get everything out from the bottom but you can’t and then half of it is in the pump and you have to throw it away half finished. That is my biggest pet peeve.

What is your favourite makeup era?

My ultimate favourite makeup era is the 1920’s-30’s. I love everything makeup from back then represents and how they experimented with makeup and different looks. I love art deco fashion and the whole style of that era because it shows how much more free women were becoming and just having fun.

What’s your guilty pleasure product?

I would say probably eye shadows because literally no matter how many I have I can never resist buying more. Even if I have ten different shades of gold there has got to be another one out there that I need!

What is your ‘underdog’ product?

I don’t really have one product but more of a range, and this is No7. I feel like it doesn’t get anywhere near enough recognition. I love No7 skincare and makeup and really can’t rate them enough. There isn’t one thing by them that I’ve come across that I don’t like and if you haven’t you need to check them out.

What’s your favourite product of 2015?

Now this is a really hard one for me but I will say that it is probably the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I’m not sure when this was released but my love for this foundation started around September 2015 so I’m saying it’s a 2015 favourite because this is always my most reliable foundation.

March & April Favourites

As it’s the end of another month I have decided to write up my favourites. I’m only going to do this every other month and combine the two together because I just feel like I’m a hard girl to impress! No really though, I just think sometimes when I try a new product or discover something new one month just ins’t enough time for me to really make anything a favourite! I have a little bit of everything to talk about so just read on…

Lets start off with something everyone here has heard of and knows about. The Garnier Micellar water. I love this and I really can’t get enough of it. It has taken me about three months to get through a whole bottle but it is amazing at taking my makeup off with no mess at all and keeps my skin super soft! This is so cheap as well especially for how long it lasted and it is always on offer somewhere too! They also do a smaller travel size which is so convenient – this is something I would really recommend.

Something I have been loving that was completely new to me a little over a month ago is by Crabtree and EvelynI have been using the Pomegranate, argan and grapeseed hand cream and it is so amazing. Not only is it so moisturising but the smell is just so good. I can’t even describe it, it’s just glorious! Every time I use this which is mainly in the evening before bed, it absorbs really quickly and never leaves behind that horrible oily stickiness you sometimes get with hand creams. I will definitely be buying a full size one when this little one runs out.

A lipstick I have been seriously swooning over is by Kiko – seriously go check it out. I recently did a post on this so I won’t ramble on too much but it is hands down my favourite Spring lipstick. I always get people asking me what it is because it’s such a lovely shade of pink and really subtle at the same time so I literally wear it everywhere I go.

This one is going to sound pretty ridiculous but I have a favourite shower gel! I said it. I bought the Yogi Flow shower foam when I was on holiday last month in Barcelona and this is honestly amazing! The scent of this is really gentle and relaxing and I love using this when I shower in the evening because I find it really calming especially that it is a lovely foam too it just makes showing so easy and enables me to unwind.

So that’s pretty much a round up of all the beauty things I have been loving recently! Let me know your thoughts on any of these or what your favourite thing has been these past couple of months!
