10 Awesome Body Care Products You Need This Summer

So this is the part 2 of this post, you can find part 1 on Zoe’s blog here so if you haven’t seen it yet pop over and give it a read because she talks about some lovely summer products in it!

6. Avon Foot works Health Rough Skin Remover

Just as with Zoe’s pick of the Body Shop Intensive Foot Rescue, I love Avon Foot Works products. This one never fails to leave my feet feeling smooth and in the summer when you’re wearing flip-flops 99% of the time the last thing you want to worry about is dry cracked skin on your feet. I have been using Avon Foot Works products for a while now and I still love them the same as when I first used them. It also has an amazing minty smell and leaves you feeling refreshed.

7.  No7 Beautiful Skin Blissful Body Wash

I got this at Christmas in a lovely bundle from my mum and this is the body wash I use when I’m having a shower but want a little bit of luxury. This is so soft on my skin it’s unbelievable. That’s why I think it’s a good product for summer because if you’ve been out all day walking or just sunbathing it replenishes the moisture in your skin and the scent leaves you feeling so relaxed.

8. Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Butter Souffle

This is one of those products that I can’t describe how lovely it is to use. If there’s one scent I could smell all day it would be from this tub. It smells deliciously fruity and is perfect for summer. Although this is a thick body butter I love putting it on after a shower as it only takes the the smallest amount and leaves my skin feeling amazing.

9. Perspirex Comfort Antiperspirant Roll-on*

I’m not usually a roll-on kinda girl but I was sent this to review after getting in touch with Perspirex. I have a very busy summer this year and what attracted me to this type of product is that you only need to apply it every 3-5 days. You may be thinking ‘What???!’ but it’s not as bad as it sounds at all. When I went camping last month this was a lift saver. it’s a lot smaller than my usual spray on bottle so was easier to take along with me. What I noticed with this is that even after three days, including showering everyday there was no smell – I even had my boyfriend and friends sniffing me to check! The only thing I’m not so keen on is that this does take a little while to dry and it does recommend putting on at night but sometimes it’s not practical for me to do that. This is definitely worth a go though!

10. Gillette Venus Razor

I have always used the Gillette Venus razor and have never had any problems with my skin afterwards. There’s not a lot more to say about this one other than that it’s easy to use and leaves your skin smooth every time. The refills do work out expensive over time but if waxing isn’t your thing these are brilliant to use.

Let me know what you’re top summer products are!

Aussie Shower Smoothie

Today I’m only doing a short post but it’s an exciting one! The other day when I was browsing in my local Superdrug I found something interesting – you may have guessed by the title what that is and it’s a shower gel by Aussie! I don’t know about you but I love their hair care and I couldn’t wait to try this out. I don’t know if they have been doing shower products for long but I haven’t seen them anywhere at all before this!

Aussie Shower Smoothie

In my local store there were three scents and I picked up the Australian Macadamia Nut Oil one and it’s smells so divine it’s unreal. The bottle is a massive 400ml so I will definitely have it for a little while and is so reasonably priced at £3.16 normally priced at £4.75!

The product itself is quite thick which I really like and lathers up really well. It recommends on the back using a loofah but I haven’t and get plenty of lather out of it 🙂

The few times I have used it, I have come out the shower feeling fresh and clean and smelling amazingly (if I do say so myself). When I run out of this one I might try some of the other scents too!

Have you seen or tried any shower gels by Aussie? Let me know!

Current Scrubs I’m Using

As Summer is fast approaching I have found myself using scrubs in the shower a lot more – no one likes getting out their lizard legs. There are a few scrubs I have been loving that are all drugstore.

Sugar Scrubs

The first one is obviously going to be by Soap and Glory. I never used to like the scent of Sugar Crush scrub but lately I have actually been looking forward to using it. One of the reasons I have been using scrubs is because I have been trying to get into self tanning so have been using this in the shower three times a week; I love the texture of it because it really feels like it is getting rid of all my dry skin. I would honestly say if you haven’t tried this one you need to. It’s a lovely big pot and I probably get 6-8 uses out of one of these so for £8.00 I think it’s amazing.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Scrub

Keeping on the more Summer inspired side of things I also really enjoy using any fruit scented sugar scrubs by The Body Shop. I got loads of these for Christmas and am gradually making my way through them and the scents are amazing. I don’t think there could be much more of a Summer smell other than Summer itself. They have a lot more or a gloopy consistency compared to the Soap and Glory Scrub but once you start working it into your skin it starts to work and exfoliate your skin.

Salt Scrubs

The second Body Shop scrub I have been using is from the Spa Wisdom Africa range which is sooo amazing, I actually can’t emphasise enough how lovely this is to use.One of the reasons for this is that it leaves my skin not only feeling clean but also moisturised. I think it just feels a bit more luxurious than sugar scrubs because the granules seem finer and this is definitely buttery. The scent of this scrub is a lot more spa like, warming and relaxing so I normally use this when I am having a but ore of a pamper evening. I can’t find a link to this as I got it around Christmas time but these are from the same range.

Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Scrub

I’m classing this as a salt scrub because the salt content is a lot higher than the amount of sugar in it and this is the Soap and Glory, the Flake Away body scrub has to be my all time favourite scrub. I get through this faster than any other bath and body product I use. I know I keep going on about it but my word, the smell of this baby is just glorious. I use this everywhere on my body especially the backs of my arms because I have some really rough skin there and I find this helps with keeping it down. Again the texture of this one is a lot firmer and one thing I like about it is that because it’s quite thick it makes you really rub it into your skin which gets rid of any dead skin.

First Impressions – Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser

Forgive me if this is outdated and not relevant to anything but I have only recently just had the pleasure of coming across this beauty….

This has literally changed my life and for the better! When I came across this I was casually minding my own business with no intention of doing any shopping but I just couldn’t resist this revolutionary item and what’s more, it was on offer! Although I thought it amazing, I was slightly skeptical; How could there be THAT much moisturiser inside? Would it spray too much? Will it even work? Well this has truly exceeded my expectations.

Packaging  – I really like the bottle itself and it seems to hold plenty in it and is an easy-use moisturiser, you honestly don’t have to worry about dipping your fingers in and spreading germs or it getting under your nails it just simply sprays on just the right amount ready for you to rub in. The only thing I have negative to say about the packaging it that when you move the cap to close it, a small amount of product sort of gets left behind but it seems to dissolve after a while as I haven’t noticed it when I next use it again.

Product – As I said earlier this is so revolutionary to me! I can’t believe I’ve not found this sooner. It sprays on the right amount and you just rub it in gently, my skin seems to absorb it so easily and evenly and it’s not greasy at all. A couple of times when I have been running late I have grabbed the bottle, sprayed, rubbed it in and I’m ready to go. It smells lovely and fresh and I feel like it would be such a good thing to have on holiday because its definitely a no-fuss product.

I know I will absolutely be buying this again and I wouldn’t even be surprised if I relied on it in the summer! What do you use when you are busy and on the go?

A- x
